Octagon Group is looking for a dynamic energetic and analytic candidate for the post of “Assistant. Manager, Procurement”. The incumbent must have initiative, experience and the drive to deliver high quality results.
- Obtain price quotations from different vendors/suppliers and prepare comparative statement for approval of purchase committee.
- Analyze information about vendor and evaluate vendor performance & strength before selecting a vendor.
- Ensure all procurement process and activities are run in compliance with company procurement process and policies (SOP).
- Regular review and keep update about stock position to ensure safety stock for uninterrupted production process. Verify weekly/Monthly stock of materials.
- Plan and ensure delivery of required materials and services in time for smooth production and operation.
- Manage relationship with suppliers to manage expected performance in deliveries and qualities.
- Conducting regular market survey to evaluate market intelligence of products availability, pricing, product range information & consumer behavior.
- Checking and receiving incoming materials as well prepare a monthly budget of specified items.
- Produce reports and statistics regularly (IN/OUT status report, dead stock report etc.)
- Prepare & Issuing Purchase Order (PO) including manage/implement of VAT & Tax during negotiation and preparation of PO.
- Prepare CAPEX and obtain necessary approvals & obtain budget certification for each purchase requisition.
- Receive invoice from suppliers and obtain QC & GRN.
- Prepare and compile all related documents for submission to accounts for bill payment.
- Closely follow up all commercial process execute in timely and cost effectively.
- Any other responsibility that may be assigned by the management time to time.
Educational Requirements :
- Bachelor or Master Degree in any Discipline, Preferred in MBA/Postgraduate Supply Chain Management from Reputed Institute / University.
- Professional Degree in supply chain management will be an added advantage.

- Age at most 35 years
- The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Garments, Steel, Chemical Industries, FMCG, Manufacturing (Light Engineering & Heavy Industry). Experience in Spinning sector will get preference.
- Understanding of e-business/e-procurement systems.
- Ability to face Audits from time to time.
- Good knowledge & skills in computer, ERP, SAP, Fast-react software.
- Needs to have Strong knowledge/understanding of Planning for Garments & Spinning factory.
- Ability to work under pressure and tight deadline.
- Pro-active, enthusiastic, self-motivated, independent and result oriented.
- Willing to frequent visit a new/existing site in all over Bangladesh.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
- Computer skills: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook etc.
