  • CODEC is an inheritor of DANIDA and GoB derived from a couple of project interventions. CODEC has been evolving as a people-centered development organization since 1985. From the beginning of its development intervention CODEC started its activities only with the fisherfolk communities but over the period CODEC extended its working area countrywide.
  • Community Development Centre (CODEC) is working in the field of Micro-Finance from the inception. CODEC is also implementing different Development projects in the field of Education, Livelihood support, Environment, Legal Service, Humanitarian Field, Advocacy, Health & Nutrition etc. The aim of CODEC is to provide support and assistance to the disadvantaged coastal communities in their day to day struggle.
  • Community Development Centre (CODEC) invites applications for the following position from the potential Bangladeshi nationals for implementing an upcoming project in Mymensingh (Gouripur, Isshwargonj & Phulpur Upazila) subject to the availability of fund.

Job Responsibilities :
  • Responsible for monitoring all sort of financial expenditures according to budget of project.
  • Update monthly bank statement, bank reconciliation and prepare report for the management.
  • Update all financial books and records as per financial procedures following CODEC financial compliance.
  • Prepare consolidated budget and budget variance report in consultation with PD/Manager/Coordinator and place to the management.
  • Monitor of payment vouchers with ensuring deduction of Taxes & VAT;
  • Ensure maintenance of fixed assets and update fixed asset lists.
  • Preparation of journal voucher with necessary supporting and taking approval from respective authority before recording.
  • Any other functions as may be assigned to him/her by the Finance Coordinator /PC or his/her designated Authority.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and Annual Project Financial Reports.
  • Checking journal vouchers from different project offices.
  • Keep invoice and all other related documents, so that internal & external Audit could be performed without any objections.
  • Visit respective project offices for overseeing the bills, documents and booking of expenses in correct & appropriate manner.
  • Ensure the safety of team members (in respect to Prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse - PSEA) from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme's goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
Educational Requirements :
  • Master of Commerce (MCom) in Accounting, Finance.
  • CA (CC) is mandatory.
  • Qualifications may be relaxed to the candidates, who have adequate knowledge and experience of the position.
  • Preferred Professional Certification: CA CC
Experience Requirements :
  • 7 to 10 year(s)

Additional Requirements :
  • Age 30 to 45 years
  • Both males and females are allowed to apply
  • Good computerized budget preparation, budget monitoring skills
  • Good reporting skill in English and verbal & written communication with the Donors and others agency.
  • Financial controlling and financial reporting skills
  • Planning and financial management skills
  • Field level monitoring skill.
  • Good Computer operation in MS Word, Excel, Internet and email communication
  • Excellent communications skills.
