- Responsible for the development and production of a wide range of optical products. These include everything from simple lenses (eye glasses) to complex systems like telescopes, microscopes, cameras, binoculars, etc.
- Designing, developing, testing, and manufacturing new products or improving existing products
- Conducting research on new materials and technologies to identify potential applications in the field
- Providing technical support to other departments within a company regarding product requirements
- Developing optical designs and prototypes for new products such as eye glasses, telescopes, cameras, etc.
- Conducting research in areas such as optics technology, laser technology, vision science, materials science, acoustics, statistics, computer science, chemistry, applied mathematics, or mechanical engineering
- Conducting tests to measure the performance of products under various conditions
- Establishing safety standards for work environments and equipment used in order to reduce risks of injury
- Using computer programs to design new products or refine existing designs
- Maintaining detailed records of work performed in order to document progress on projects
Educational Requirements :
- Minimum B.Sc in Engineering - Mechanical or IPE from any reputed university.
