Ensuring that all staff members are properly trained on proper procedures for collecting, storing, and transfusing blood products to patients.
Performs donor registration and screening, which includes obtaining medical histories, taking blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and blood count checks.
Coordinating with other departments to ensure that donations meet the needs of patients.
Managing and administering inventory of all blood products including plasma, platelets, and red blood cells.
Overseeing the testing of blood samples to ensure that they meet safety guidelines for transfusion
Establishing donor eligibility criteria, including health requirements and screening tests for infectious diseases such as HIV/AIDS
Conducting training sessions with new staff members to ensure that they are comfortable with their responsibilities and know proper safety procedures
Provide consultation and support to technical and clerical staff concerning specimen and requisition acceptability.
Overall supervision

Educational Requirements :
Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery(MBBS)
MBBS with minimum 3 years' experience in relevant subject. Candidate having Diploma in Blood, Serology & Transfusion Medicine (DBST) or phase A (Completed) in Transfusion Medicine will get preference.
